Creating An Atmosphere of Success for Employees in our New Remote World

For individuals who have worked from home in some form of freelance work, saw nothing change much when employees were forced to work from home. For those who have worked in an office setting for 20+ years the change was radical. Common challenges were reported for those who had children. Soon workers were not only juggling their work load but also managing their children as they went on Zoom each day and took classes online. Other challenges reported was burnout as the separation between work and home life became blurred. In this article we will look at how market research communities can be used in an HR capacity to help manage this modern day transformation of work.

Since COVID-19 companies across the world have shifted to remote working. For many companies this is not going to change after the pandemic subsides. This change has shown that office rent can be saved on and that individuals can get their work done from home, cafes or co-work spaces. For many the ability to work from home has created a new sense of freedom for workers, and has saved time and money in daily commutes and energy prices. However this change has not come without it’s challenges.

One of the biggest challenges faced by workers is the fact that work is always there and it can feel like you are always at the office. There are ways to help workers solve this problem. One of the keys to helping workers avoid burnout is providing structure to the day. One of the key problems experienced by remote workers is lost time and feeling like they didn’t do anything meaningful. By using market research online communities for your workers, you can create lists in the discussions and manage the goals of the workers each day. By creating clear goals for the workers, they can focus on achieving their daily goals and feel rewarded by the end of the day, knowing that when they close the laptop they are officially free.

The other way that communities can be used is by tracking time with the goals set out. If you are clear with the amount of time you want to give to one task, you are more likely to achieve the goal in the allotted time. This was seen by Posco in Korea, who sought to reduce worker burnout which is common in Korea. Work weeks at large corporations can be gruellingly long. A typical salary person works 15-16 hours per day. Posco began having workers break their day into 4 key targets and alloting their time for two hour blocks. Once the worker completed their work they were free to go home. What they saw was an explosion in producitvity and employee satisfaction. The effects were contagious and carried over to their yearly profits.

While working from home seems here to stay, we believe that through structure and support your company can help its employees achieve their work goals, and mitigate stress.
